sleep

To irritate the most calm, peaceful and patient person you know…just try this….don’t allow him/her to sleep for 3-4 days…and see how they gets irritated at little things…Well after all sleep is one of the main sources of energy. It is said that for an adult 6-7 hrs of sleep is enough. Less sleep brings irritation and more sleep leads to lethargy and laziness. Get up late on a Sunday and the whole day is so dull. Or burn the candle at both the ends and you end up sleeping in lectures /office.

I know an old lady who has to taking sleeping pills every night. Well getting a natural sleep is indeed a blessing. It is amazing to observe how sleep takes over as you close your eyes. A lot of healing happens during sleep, both on the physical and mental level.

Well, we talk more in details about this in our YES!+, Youth Empowerment and Skills Workshop. And not only talk about sleep but also experience the deepest level of rest, which is much much deeper than sleep….a resting wakeful awareness…interesting, isn’t it?

With Antarnaad and the Mega YES!+ with Guruji and HHW approaching fast, sleep is receding to the background. It’s time for the other sources of energy to overtake for sleep compensation. More about Antarnaad in the next page….

Morya Morya.....

Yesterday was a day of adventure and celebration. Adventure because we went on an adventurous trip to Mumbai to meet Guruji and celebration because yesterday evening saw the beginning of the YES!+ celebration which will continue till 15th Jan…... Live dhol and tasha rocked the evening satsang as the YES!+ crowd danced and cheered to the rhythm of “Deva tuzya daari aalo”. We had the melodious Krishnan and Ajit from Mumbai and the synthesizers and musicians came from Aurangabad to give a blend of Enthusiasm+Energy+Joy+Love+Team Work+Music+Rhythm+Dance+Going MAD++++

And then late in the night at 12 we met Guruji in Mumbai at Juhu. It is such bliss and a blessing to get to be with Him. He was interacting with the Antarnaad organizing team from Pune, patiently listening to everyone and giving his valuable suggestions. And then He suddenly got up from His seat to share a “sher” that he had just composed-
"Ek kadam is path par chal ke dekho to sahi, manjil milti hai ki nahi…
Ek baar haath bataake dekho to sahi, kaam hotaa hai ki nahi….
Ek baar naam leke dekho to sahi, jeevan saphal hota hai ki nahi…
Arre yaar!! ek baar muskuraake dekho to sahi, duniya apnata hai ki nahi…"

Dependence

This came as a very strong realization yesterday.

Our life is so much dependent on the people around us. There is nothing like being independent. From the Auto Rickshaw driver to the vehicle manufacturer, everybody has their part to play to make our travel safe and in time. We trust so much on engineering, that we never even think that the bus in which I am traveling might catch fire if the designing is wrong or if the vehicle is not tested properly for endurance before the launch.

The farmers from the land where I was born and brought up are in a very poor state today. If they decide that they no more want to continue with agriculture, how-so-ever rich we are, we will not have food to eat. Once during a Satsang, Guruji was telling us to bless “Annadata sukhi bhava” after our meals. Only when the farmers are happy, we can be happy. The food that tantalizes our taste buds passes through many many hands through its journey from the soil to our mouth.

Santa & the Priest

Each Friday night after work, Santa Singh would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a tandoori chicken and some meat kebabs. But, all of his neighbours were strict Catholics ... and since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating chicken and meat on a Friday.
The delicious aroma from the grilled meats was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their Priest.

The Priest came to visit Santa, and suggested that he become a Catholic. After several classes and much study, Santa attended Mass ... and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, "You were born a Sikh, and raised a Sikh, but now dear, you are a Catholic."

Santa's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived.

The wonderful aroma of tandoori chicken and meat kebabs filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors and, as he rushed into Santa's backyard, clutching a rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Santa, holding a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meats and chanted:

"Oye, you waz born a chicken, and you waz born a lamb, you waz raised a chicken, and you waz raised a lamb

but now dears.... you are a potato and tomato"!!!
